Bright Orange Jacket with a Chevron Skirt & Learning to Trust – Modest Fashion Moment

WIWW3 2I have been in the mood for patterns lately.  I don’t know if it’s the Spring weather or what.  I’m not complaining though.  I love to dress in black and white and add a bit of color.  I find it less intimidating to use neutrals and then add a bright shade as an accent.

Someone once asked me, “Do you wear those lime green shoes with everything?”  I confidently responded, “Yes, yes I do.” They are one of my favorite pairs of shoes.  I have actually owned these shoes twice.  The first time I purchased them, I bought them at Ross.  I wore them until they could be worn no more, and thankfully was blessed by my friend who purchased the same pair from Goodwill.  She was kind enough to gift them to me.  God is so good!

My skirt and white quarter length tee-shirt are from Wal-Mart.  I love wearing long cotton skirt because they make me feel like I rolled out of bed and never really got dressed are so comfortable.

My belt is also an old purchase from Wal-Mart.  Both my handbag and watch are purchases from Canal Street in New York City. This quarter length sleeved jacket was purchased from a thrift store called Value Village. I am a sucker for a pop-up collar and a bright jacket.

Yesterday, I was thinking “I wish my days were more consistent.”  Then I heard that familiar still small voice lovingly say, “No, you don’t. If your days were all the same, you would never learn to trust Me.”  What a true statement!  I am a person who loves schedules.  I love to plan and make to-do lists.   I like knowing exactly what is going to happen and at exactly what time it will be happening.  So, sometimes adapting to change can be a little rough for me. However, I have to remember that hidden in those moments of unpredictability are opportunities to grow and trust in God’s plan.   I once heard someone say, “Blessed are the flexible for they shall not break.”  It’s humorous, but it’s true.  How are you when it comes dealing with change? Life is an adventure when we learn to trust God.  You are awesome!

God bless you,
