Pinstripes & Polka Dots – Modest Fashion Moment

I tend to use the same items of clothing multiple times in as many ways as possible. You will see many of the pieces repeated in upcoming posts. I don’t believe you have to break the bank or your brain to put together a modest outfit that you can feel good about. I try to make the best of what I have. I am not always the most brave or adventurous person, especially when it comes to patterns. However, I thought I’d mix these two patterns in a safe way by staying in the same color family. (okay, okay, so maybe I’m not brave at all…but baby steps are still steps right?)

The majority of the time, what we wear on the outside is an expression of who we are on the inside. (unless you slept through your alarm and woke up five minutes before your doctors appointment…and in that case, it’s just pajamas and a prayer.) Designer labels and the latest trends are not the most important part of a wardrobe. If you can afford them, that is awesome. If not, it’s okay. Many of us are in the same boat, and even if we could afford them, some of us would opt out. The most important part of your wardrobe is your heart. If your heart is set in the right direction, your wardrobe will follow suit. Before you put on any outfit, polish your heart in prayer and you will always look beautiful to God.

What are some things that are out of your comfort zone that you could try? Is it something simple like mixing patterns in an outfit? Or, is it something bigger like stepping out and making new friends? Either way, go out and stretch your horizons today. (Baby steps are still steps, remember?) God bless you so very much!

XOXO
