Do you ever look into your closet that is packed with clothes and think, “I have nothing to wear!”? Even though we know it’s not true, sometimes putting together an outfit can feel like a daunting task. It doesn’t have to be. Finding one piece and building around it is an easy way to put together an outfit without giving your self a nervous breakdown.
Today, I pulled this skirt from the
dark side of my closet. It was a thrift store purchase from about a year ago. This was the inspiration for the rest of my choices.
This bag has already made an appearance (and it probably won’t be the last time). It is an awesome bag. It was purchased, after much negotiation, from a street vendor in New York City.
This little jean jacket was purchased from Abercrombie & Fitch during my time of employment there.
The brown tank-top with the lace detailing is from Walmart. I can’t quite remember where I purchased the belt, but I wear this belt with everything!
My scarf was purchased from my local beauty supply store, and my shoes were thrifted.
Most of the items in my closet are thrifted. Growing up I wasn’t a fan of wearing used clothes. Now it is my preference. With a good cleaning, almost any item can be re-used or repurposed. As I grow to understand the concept of stewardship, I see more and more how the money the Lord provides me can be more wisely spent on things of more importance than fashion. How do you feel about thrifting?
I pray that you are blessed today and that you come to know the Lord and His love more than ever before!
God bless you!
